Regeneration of Palladium Catalyst

The scientist at the Indian Institute of Technology has developed a way to recover palladium catalyst fully once the reaction is completed. Recovery, means extracting the palladium from the mixture, is done by placing a small magnet at the bottom of reaction vessel. Then the recovered catalyst is washed once with EtOAc and reused for the next reaction. After ten cycles of reaction, the scientists found no deterioration of the catalyst occurred.
